NYC Brow Kit

Hi all,
For the past few days, I’ve been looking for a Brow Pencil/Brow kit that could help me fill in my eyebrows after a slight over-grooming accident. The first place I went to was the Clinique counter at Macy's but the prices for their eyebrow kit and eyebrow pencils were more than what I was willing to pay. The prices actually got a lot higher as I visited the Urban Decay and Smashbox counters ranging from $20+.

I finally caved and decided to go to Target to see what my drugstore options and there were actually decent amount choices under $10. I picked up the last NYC Browser Brush-on Brow Kit off the NYC and I was intrigued by it. I saw the Urban Decay version earlier that day and it looked quite similar and MUCH cheaper. I haven’t purchased a NYC product in a long, long time and I was hesitant about it at first so I put it in my cart and browsed through the Maybelline, Cover Girl, NYX aisles until I decided to just purchase it. I’ve had really good experience with the Wet N’ Wild products over the past few months and I was hoping that NYC had improve their products to the same level as Wet N’ Wild. The NYC brow kit is $ 4.99 at Target while the NYX version is $5.99 and ELF (out of stock at the time of purchase) is listed at $3.00

The product comes in a little plastic packaging with snap enclosures. The actual product itself is in a black plastic compartment which contains the Grooming Wax, the Brow Powder and the Angle Brush and mini Tweezers with a clear slide out top. The information on the back says:

Complete kit for beautiful brows! NYC New York Color Browser Brush-on Brow Powder with Grooming Wax and Tweezers make brows look neater-eyes look wider and brighter.
Usage: 1. Dip Brow Brush into Grooming Wax; mix lightly with Brow Powder. Using quick, short strokes, brush upward and outward over eyebrows to fill in color and add long-lasting hold.
2. Remove stray hairs around brows with the Tweezers- grasp hair firmly and pull quickly in the direction of hair growth.
My Review:
I am glad that I got this product because this is the first time I purchased a brow kit and it is worth it. I do wish that it comes in more shade, I believe this is the only color they have and it is lighter than my eyebrows color but it’s not that noticeable once I mix it with a darker pencil. The wax isn’t sticky, it really does make tweezing the strays much easier and the mini tweezers surprisingly works really well. I did however like the fact that the Urban Decay kit has a highlighting powder and so I used my own highlighting powder to brighten up the areas under my eyebrows and the finish product was incredible. This is the thinnest my eyebrows have been in a while. I usually like it much fuller but hopefully I can use this product until I get my eyebrows back to its original fullness and length.

Until next time,

Jessica
