Quotes Thursday - The Alchemist

Hi all,

Today's Quotes Thursday are my favorite quotes from the book- "The Alchemist" by Paulo Coelho. In case you are interested this is the summary of the book you can find on Goodreads.

I am aware that there's mixed reviews on the book. It is written very fable-like. It starts out kind of slow but I think for a young audience (especially High School age students), it is a fitting book assignment. The book has very distinct high-low moments that anyone can relate to, it talks about adventures, journey of finding oneself, expectations vs. reality and dreaming.

“There is only one thing that makes a dream impossible to achieve: the fear of failure.”

“Everyone seems to have a clear idea of how other people should lead their lives, but none about his or her own.”

“No matter what he does, every person on earth plays a central role in the history of the world. And normally he doesn't know it.”

“Don't give in to your fears. If you do, you won't be able to talk to your heart.”

“People are afraid to pursue their most important dreams, because they feel that they don't deserve them, or that they'll be unable to achieve them.”

“You must always know what it is that you want.”

If you've read it, please let me know if you like or dislike it. I was helping my cousin who is a freshman in High School and ended up reading the whole book!

Until next time,

Jessica
