The Christmas Tag
I can't believe it's 4 days till Christmas. So to get more into the holiday spirit I figured I'll answer some Christmas related questions (also known as the 'Christmas Tag'). There are so many of these version on blogs and YouTube videos but I found one I like so let's get started...
1. What is your favorite Christmas film?
Oh it's so hard to narrow it down to one. The one that I probably watch the most is The Holiday but recently I watched Love Actually on Netflix and I love it!
2. Have you ever had a White Christmas?
Yes! Although for the past couple of years, I've had more White Thanksgivings than White Christmases.
Hands down Carol of the Bells. I loved the Mormon Tabernacle and the Trans-Siberian Orchestra versions. It was my favorite song to sing when I sang in the choir.
Only if I sing the song... Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, and Blitzen + Rudolph.
7. What holiday traditions are you looking forward to most this year?
I always enjoy lighting up the candles on the Christmas tree or baumkerzen.
8. Is your Christmas tree real or fake?
Real.
9. What is your all-time favorite holiday food/sweet treat?
Any German cakes or cookies are basically my favorite holiday treats. I think the spices that are put in German treats just hits all the right flavor notes for the holiday. And Christmas is basically the only time I can find them.
10. Be honest: do you like giving or receiving gifts?
I like receiving presents but I love giving presents more. It's very hard for me when I find "the" present for someone and I have to keep it till Christmas. I always want to tell them and see their reaction.
11. What is the best Christmas gift you've ever received?
I've received some really lovely presents throughout my life but the two that I remember more recently is a luxury watch that my mom gave me (that I love and protect with my life) and a weighted keyboard from my dad which has been absolutely incredible since I don't have the space for a piano.
12. What would be your dream place to visit for the holiday season?
Germany, Switzerland or France
13. Are you a pro-present wrapper, or do you fail miserably?
Fail, fail, fail. I clearly didn't get the pro-present wrapper gene from my mom.
14. Most memorable holiday moment?
This is technically after Christmas, but probably seeing Cinderella on Broadway for my birthday last year with one of my best friends.
15. What made you realize the truth about Santa?
I don't think I ever grew up believing in Santa. I mean I know of him but I was a cynical child so things like Santa never phased me. I also hated people in costumes but I grew up and ended up loving performing and watching theater... oh the irony.
16. Do you make New Year's resolutions? Do you stick to them?
I've made resolutions in the past but I don't usually stick to them. More recently I've made more realistic and attainable resolutions throughout the year so it's more focused and less daunting when I think about them.
17. What makes the holidays special for you?
I love being able to just slow down and appreciate life. Also spending time with family and friends that I can only see during the holiday season.
