The Next Page Book Haul & Friends of the Library (Blogging On the Go Series)

As you can see on the title, I've decided to start a new series called "Blogging On the Go". The idea behind this post is essentially to create and publish more content without the lengthy process I usually go through on a regular post. One of the major difference is that I will be mainly using the Blogger app on my phone to write, take photos, and edit the post. It usually takes me about a week to get a post from conception to the moment I click the orange 'publish' button.

Oftentimes when I am travelling on the bus, train, car, in a restaurant, a mall etc., an idea will come to me and I will write a little note and add it to my "to do" list and it doesn't usually make it to this page. I hope that you'll enjoy the shorter posts that will be on this series. I hope to utilize this series for quick information on events, time sensitive materials, deals, restaurant reviews and maybe even book reviews. Let me know your ideas down below!

Moving right along, let's get right to the haul.

The Next Page Book Store (722 Chesnut Street, Philadelphia) is one of two Friends of the Free Library book stores. Friends of the Free Library is a volunteer run organization that not only run the bookstores but also have volunteers at the local libraries and events that the libraries run in the neighborhoods. The Next Page is closing it's door at the end of this month and is hosting a month long consolidation clearance event. At the moment all the books, CDs and DVDs are 75% off or $12 to fill your own tote. The Book Corner (311 North 20th Street, Philadelphia) will remain open. The proceeds from both stores goes back to supporting the Free Library of Philadelphia collection and services.

I had about half an hour in between appointment and was hoping that I could find some books to fulfill the 2015 Reading Challenge. I ended up with at total of 12 books and since I didn't calculate them, I went with the 'fill your own tote'. I was surprised that I only got 12 books because the tote was really heavy and then I realized that half of them were hard cover.

Filled my Boston NPR Tote to the Brim
Most of the books were in excellent/brand new condition so I decided to calculate how much I had save (feeling very thrifty at the moment).

Total List Price: $193.82
Total Next Page Discounted Price: $71

If I had gone with the 75% off, the total would've been $17.75, and since I chose the fill a tote I paid $12.

I am very happy with this purchase. I found several books that I will be reading for the 2015 Reading Challenge and the children's books will all be going to new homes.

If you are a Philadelphia residence or work in Philadelphia please check out the Next Page or the Book Corner and support the Free Library of Philadelphia which host amazing collections, services and events that are free of charge to Philadelphians of all ages.

Below, you will find all the titles I purchased linked to Goodreads. I hope you'll enjoy this new series!
