First Impressions - Body Shop Extra Virgin Minerals Compact Foundation

This is my first cosmetic products by The Body Shop and also my first minerals foundation, I've tried Bare Minerals a couple of years ago when I was at a wedding and it broke me out, so I was a bit weary but I decided to give it a go. I really like the sleek packaging of this product; it comes with a mirror and a brush. I usually hate brushes that comes with products but to be honest this wasn't bad. I was able to apply it with the brush but it was easier to blend using my Real Technique Expert Face Brush. I would say this foundation is a medium to full coverage, matte finish.

I used my Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel before applying the foundation on my face. I didn't use any primer just to see the longevity of the product. As you can see in the before and after, the foundation worked great on evening out my complexion. I decided to just apply a layer, but you can certainly build it up for a fuller coverage.

Before & After

Since this was a day look and I was going to wear glasses all day, I decided to just keep the makeup super natural with a pop of bright lip. All the products I used will be linked at the end.

I am really impressed with this foundation. It applies really smoothly and evenly and it lasts a long time. It has a matte finished , but because my face is combination-oily it didn't stay matte the whole day. I think in the summer I would probably top it off with a powder just on T-zone but if you have dry skin this could work really well on your skin since it is super creamy. I'm really glad I picked this up at the store and it got me really interested in the cosmetic line at The Body Shop.
