The Face Shop Oil Control Sun Cream Review

The Face Shop finally opened a store near Philadelphia and I was really excited to try some of the products that I've been researching. I am consciously trying not to purchase cosmetic products that I don't need so I decided to pick up this oil control sun cream with SPF 35. I've been really terrible with applying SPF on my face and since I don't wear foundation/bb cream everyday sometimes I forget to apply sun screen. The Face Shop offers a couple of sun screen options this particular one is from their "Clean Face" line and the other one is called "Natural Sun" with a higher SPF and it's also tinted.

The product itself is 50 ml and I think I paid $7.99 + tax which is average for face sunscreen (Neutrogena is $12.99 for 88 ml). So it claims that it's made with an "upgraded formula that leaves skin feeling fresher and matte". Now I am trying this out in frigid Spring time when my skin is relatively dry and even my T-zone is not a quarter of what it'll be in the summer.

So applying this is a little bit interesting, it comes out like a lotion and a little bit sticky. It's also got this scent that I don't quiet know how to explain. It's the same scent that's also in my Etude House and Shisheido products. It did set in about a minute but it leaves a kind of white cast over my skin and when I applied it on my hand and on my face it leaves this kind of powdery feeling which I'm not a fan off when I am having a no-makeup day.

You can see on the right that there's a white cast on the bottom half of my hand that's also quiet reflective and shiny. I'm going to try and finish this bottle before the summer because I honestly don't think it'll survive my oily skin in the summer heat.

Coppertone Oil Free SPF 30If you have oily skin and want a face specific SPF sun screen that's affordable you can check out Neutrogena or if you are lazy and cheap like me, I've used the Coppertone Oil Free SPF 30 all of last summer that survived Georgia & Florida heat on my face and body and it worked great. The Coppertone sun screen is non-sticky, hypoallergenic, non-scented, waterproof (80 mins) & PABA free. As always thanks for reading!

Until next time,
