Reading in a Park (Love the One You're With by Emily Giffin) + Photos

This past Sunday, my family + family friends decided to do a picnic at a park/hiking trail near home. Since I wasn't planning on hiking, I decided to bring a book along considering that I've been kind of behind on my Reading Challenge. I don't even know if the book I read even falls under any of the category, we shall find out in a couple of days when I write my May Update.

The book that I brought with me was Love the One You're With by Emily Giffin. I got it from the library book sale section for 25 cents. I actually haven't read any Emily Giffin books in awhile. I really like Something Borrowed & Something Blue but I remember reading two books by Giffin that I was not impressed by so I haven't been on the lookout for her books. The cover of the book was just so bright and springy that it caught my attention, And for a quarter, it had to come home with me. I spent the majority of my time at the park reading, playing badminton and eating good food (obviously).

I don't know if I'll be doing a full review on it but I thought the book was quite good. Just a little summary - the main character Ellen is married to Andy who is her best friend's (Margot) brother. The book starts with Ellen at a crossroad. She's questioning her marriage to Andy, whether she had "settled" by marrying him instead of waiting for a grand love when lo' and behold her ex Leo entered the picture.  She began keeping secrets from Andy by seeing Leo and from then on her life began to unravel. Obviously the big question is will she stay with Andy or leave the marriage and be with Leo. This is not the first time  I read a book that had this kind of theme but I think Giffin managed to make it more realistic and I was able to follow and understand Ellen's thoughts and actions.

While we are talking about the park I figured I'll insert some photos I took from the park. It was a really nice and lovely day.

As always, thanks for reading!

Until next time,
