Lip products inspired by the Pantone 2014 Fashion Spring 2014 - Drugstore & High End
So lately I've been trying to expand my wardrobe and make up products by getting in more fun and lively colors. I usually stick to the neutral and purples for make up and kind of the neutral- black/navy clothing combo. This year Pantone Spring 2014 list is very beautiful I love lots of the colors that are in the list which you can find here. Two of the colors I think are beautiful inspirations for spring lip colors are Cayenne and Celosia Orange.
The two lip products that I have for you today are inspired by the list, they are not dupes of each other so it's just two options (one drugstore and one high end) if you are interested in getting some color this season.
I'm clearly not going to get a lipstick in Celosia Orange, it's way too bright for me but the Wet n Wild Purty Persimmon is absolutely beautiful. It is this super bright red/orange-y color which I think is the perfect blend of Cayenne and Celosia Orange AND it's super affordable. It does tug a little bit so I do recommend applying a lip balm before using it but other than that, what a great way to add in some color. It's a semi-matte finish so if you like it more glossy, you can always apply a little bit of lip gloss.
The second product is one of my top product ever and it is Clinique's Chubby Stick Intense in Heftiest Hibiscus. This product is not as orange as the Wet n Wild product but it's so bright and pretty. It is a balm stain product so you don't need to apply a balm before hand. I can't say enough good things about this product. I just love it so much. It lasts about the same amount of time as the Wet n Wild which is about 4 hours. It doesn't tug and it's just really beautiful for spring and summer.
As you can see the Wet N Wild Purty Persimmon is closer to the Celesia Orange. If you are interested in a more orange-y color, Wet n Wild does have one called 24 Carrot Gold. The Clinique Heftiest Hibiscus is that color in between the orange and the cayenne and it's really pretty. The Purty Persimmon in my opinion is more intense and bright. With my current skin tone the Clinique Heftiest Hibiscus is more flattering but hopefully as I get tanned throughout the spring into the summer, I'll be able to use the Purty Persimmons more.
Let me know what inspired you this season. I do have eye shadow palletes inspiration based on the Pantone list if you are interested just let me know below.
