The Curated Closet by Anuschka Rees Book Review

The Curated Closet couldn't have come at a better time for me since I've completed my clothes
decluterring process per KonMari method and was in the process of re-building my wardrobe.

I was going to catalog and blog about my clothes decluterring process but found the process to be overwhelming and in total it took me a couple of months longer than planned. I have to say that it's been around 4 months and I haven't fallen into the mindless shopping habit I had prior to the massive purge.

What I've found after the decluttering and shopping detox was that for the most part I have almost everything I've wanted and needed. When I look at my wardrobe and drawers I know where everything is and dressing up everyday feels a little more special. I've also noticed similarities in brands and materials that I like and I'm just more conscious about my closet. It's no longer overflowing and I've found that even to this day, I've been able to let go of pieces that even though it sparked joy, it no longer holds a purpose or value in my life.

The Curated Closet is absolutely beautiful and full of ideas and recommendation for someone who wants to build their dream wardrobe. This book's Part 1: The Basics alone is worth the value. The book is set up almost like a workbook. There are exercises you can do to determine your ideal wardrobe from the items you already own, have love, hate, etc to the "wish list" items. She talks about minimalism and capsule wardrobe as well for anyone whose interested but don't know where to start.

You definitely don't need to have gone through a decluterring process to read this book but if you are at a point where you've finished decluttering and you thought to yourself... "Well, now what? I need some pieces but I don't want to go back to mindlessly buying crappy clothes that don't fit or makes me feel good", this is the book for you.

I have purchased some items for Fall & Winter recently that I will be sharing with you in an upcoming haul post.

Until next time,
