Sample Sunday Review- Estee Lauder Perfectly Clean

Estee Lauder Perfectly Clean

Today I am reviewing a 2-in-1 product from Estee Lauder called the Perfectly Clean Multi Action Foam Cleanser/Purifying Mask. I got this product as a gift with purchase a few months ago and finally got around to trying it out. Usually for things like face wash or moisturizer I would try it out for at least 3 days (up to a week) but after one day of am/pm use I'm ready to give my thoughts.

The first time I actually took this out I was very interested because the product being a 2-in-1 is quite useful especially for someone who travels a lot or just wants to limit their skin care products. When I first squeezed out the product I noticed that it's very thick and shiny almost like Philosophy Amazing Grace Emulsion.

The second thing I noticed was the scent. My gosh the scent. I used it in the morning as a regular cleanser and I found it too drying even for my combination skin. I also felt like I needed to do a second face wash because it left an unpleasant film. In the evening I wanted to try the mask option and I went to Estee Lauder website and it said to use a thin layer and leave it on for 3 minutes. I got passed the 2 minute mark and it dried like a clay mask. I then wet my fingers and started to massage my face with the product, it foamed up again and it was fine until my face started to break out.

I have sensitive skin so the fact this product broke me out is not surprising considering it has fragrance but I actually did a little research on the product and apparently Estee Lauder had changed the formula a couple of years ago. I ended up at Paula's Choice/Beautypedia which has been pretty reliable for me in terms of ingredients information and they gave this product a 1 out of 5 stars expert rating.

So here are my final thoughts as some one has a combination/sensitive skin, it's always important to make sure that I find a gentle cleanser that doesn't completely strip my face of natural oil because it'll just make my face more oily. Not everything that has fragrance breaks me out but this one did and it happens. If you have sensitive skin I do not recommend this product but if you use Estee Lauder products or interested in the product I highly recommend if at all possible getting a sample of it first to see if it works.

Until next time,
