Sephora Spring '18 Haul
Hello!
If you follow me on instagram you may have seen that I went to Indonesia back in February & March. What I also did was got my hair digitally waved. If you haven't heard of it I'll be posting my salon adventure next week as all of the posts I wrote while I was travelling finally got edited. Why did I talk about my hair? Well this post revolved around a few main items that I really wanted to get from Sephora during the sale and couple of extra stuff that made it into the virtual basket.
One of the things I really wanted to get was the Olaplex No.3 which is not a conditioner but a hair bond repairer. I first got it from my hair stylist and it really worked well in the recovery of my hair after a lightening process I got last year.
The second hair item that I wanted to get is a series of deluxe travel size hair styling products. Now that my hair is wavy, I realized that I don't have any styling product besides hairspray and dry shampoo. I have a LOT of serum, hair masks, deep conditioner, etc but when you have straight asian hair there's really not much to do. I used to braid my damp hair overnight and in the morning it'l be wavy and an hour later it'll be straight. There was no styling to be done. Having wavy hair opens up a whole new world of possibilities and products to try. That's why I was excited to see a few products I was interested in trying in this sampler. I've tried a couple of them and so are my favorite are the Amika dry shampoo and the Living proof T.B.D. multitasking styler.

The Beam Highlighter
The Beam Highlighter
I would never have thought that I'd be attracted to a palette that doesn't have division. This is why I never got the Physicians Formula highlighters because those strips drives me crazy. But the moment I swatched this on my arm I knew I had to get it. I'm not usually an impulse buyer when it comes to cosmetic especially now that I've paired down my collection but this is an exceptional palette (and again on sale for $17) There's no name to the shades (from left to right: it's just called Soft Rose, White gold pearl and Warm golden pearl).
At first I was really scared about the Sofr Rose shade because it seems very intimidating but after playing with it for a little bit I've come to love it. I wouldn't use it the same way as the other 2 lighter shades. I would use it more the way I use my Lancome Star Bronzer. For the Soft Rose color I would use a giant fluffy brush and just highlight at the high points on my face but more softly so it's more diffused and not as intense. The other 2 colors I would use interchangeably by themselves or mix together. I was attracted to the UD after glow palette but i'm so glad I waited and got this instead because I would never have used the pink shade.
Vice Lipstick in Bun Bun
Now I must say when I picked this up I knew I did not need another lipstick BUT 1. it's apprently named after her bunny and I used to have a bunny and so it was very sweet and nostalgic and 2. I just really love nude lipsticks. I'm getting over the whole liquid lipstick situation that I had with colourpop I just don't like liquid lipstick/gloss in general so I think this was a good start. The comfort matte formula is really nice. I do have to say if you have super patchy lips, you definitely need to treat that first because it will kind of cling but it doesn't move around and it is comfortable to wear. I went through eating a bowl of pho and some bubble tea and it survived and when I re-apply I don't usually have problems with it flaking or crusting or being uneven.

Eyes & Brows
The Stila Stay All Day is actually a re-purchase. I have never in my life finished an eyeliner because I have uneven and oily eyelids so I don't usually bother with lining my eyes but this is one of the best liquid waterpoof liner. It stays on forever until you take it off with a cleansing balm, it's super easy and it has this separator inside that makes the liner last longer caus eit doesnt dry out.

The next two are for me the big splurge and they are the Anastasia Beverly Hills DipBrow in Medium Brown and the #12 brush. Yes I know I didn't have to get the brush but I just feel it' seasier and it's one of htose things that if they are meant to be together there's no harm in trying it together.
Face Products
No Poreblem Primer is by a korean brand called Touch in Sol and this primer is supposed to be really good for combination skin and it's really affordable at $18. This upcoming Sample Sunday is on the Tatcha primer which I thought I was going to get during the sale but you'll see why it didn't up on the basket.
The final product is the Sephora miscellar water. I'm running out of my garnier and I just wanted to try something new. These were on sale for $4 each. Do I think it's worth it? Probably not. Once these are finish I'll probably go back to my Garnier.
As always thanks for reading. Until next time,
Jessica
