Summer Haul: Nordstrom Anniversary & FabFitFun Edit Sale
It's been a very hot summer and I find it very difficult to leave the house unless it's for work or to take the pups for a walk so I ended up doing a bit of online shopping.
Let's talk first about the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. It is open to Nordstrom card member holder now and open to the public July 20th through August 5th. It is probably one of the sales I look forward to each year. I get the catalog in advance so I can go through and mark the items I'm interested in and get it when the sale starts. Since I've been doing really well on paring down my wardrobe I didn't get any clothes which is a very good sign.
The FabFitFun Edit Sale unfortunately closed (sorry) but it was only open to members so if you are a FabFitFun subscriber you would've gotten their reminders about the sale. If you are not subscribed to FabFitFun the Edit Sale is basically a sale of their "add on" items. When you subscribe to their seasonal box there's an "add on" page where you can get individual items discounted like a curling iron,Tarte mermaid brush collection and a bunch of other beauty, fashion and lifestyle items. This isn't a box necessarily but you do get a pretty good deal and all you have to do is add it to your cart and it will automatically charge your card when they close the sale.

Nordstrom
First is the Clarks Edenvale Page Bootie in Black Leather currently $79.90 and after the sale on August 5th it'll go up to $119.95. I have been looking for a black bootie since last Fall but I couldn't find any that does't have a slippery sole. I broke my ankle when I was in High School and I spent the majority of my teens and early 20s trying to wear heels but I've given up. I also have flat and wide feet which makes wearing heels a very unpleasant experience. So I'm hoping that this would be a good fit, it has a rubbery sole which will be good for traction and when it rains and this way I can say a sweet farewell to my other fall boots that I haven't worn anyways because they have heels.
The second item that I picked up from Nordstrom is probably a gimmick but I also need a new beauty blender so I figure why not. For $35 you get 2 beauty blender, a deluxe sample of the cleanser and the carrier. I was actually looking for something like this because for the most part I usually don't apply makeup until I get to work especially in the summer so if I do use my beauty blender I always have to remember to not close my makeup bag all the way so it'll dry. I will get back to you on whether or not it's actually practical. It is going to be $35 after the sale this is just an early access for members.
FabFitFun
What I really wanted from FabFitFun is the NuMe 25mm Curling Wand yes that NuMe. NuMe was sooo in a few years ago there were so many YouTubers that talked about the trio exchangeable barrel with their 50% off codes and I didn't get it. I was (and am) still faithful to my 24k Hot Tools curling iron that I got in senior year when I got a role in my High School play but that gives a very fancy curl and I want something quick and easy and I've seen a lot of really good reviews even after all these years so I'm going to give it a try. I do have the large Remington Pearl Curling Wand and I like it but it takes longer to heat up and it takes too long to do my whole head. The Remington shape and I guess whatever is used to coat the barrel is very slippery and I have very soft straight asian hair so sometimes it's very difficult to wrap my hair around. I hope I won't have a problem with the NuMe. The sale price is $19 and regular price $79 (there's a ton of discount codes online).
To get the free shipping I had to hit $25 so I picked up Mighty Patch ($5 on sale, usually $14.99) which is a blemish patch that I want to compare to my favorite Cosrx Acne Patch and Skin & Co. Umbrian Truffle Body Oil which I'll probably use when it get's colder. I love body oils in the winter one of my favorite is the Kiehl's Dry Body Oil but for $5 (regularly $33) I thought I'd give this a go.
I hope you enjoy this quick haul. As always thanks for reading.
Until next time,
Jessica
