Sample Sunday - Tatcha the Silk Canvas Protective Primer

I was really excited when there was an option for this Tatcha primer sample on Sephora. I knew I had to get it from all of the hype surrounding it. Right after the Sephora sale I went to a couple of stores and this was sold out for good reason. If you were a  Beauty Insider, VIB or VIB Rogue member you were to get significant discount on this $52 primer.

Trying this out I was really surprised by how heavy it is at first glance but I decided to try it out. I tried it right before it got super humid or hot here in the east coast. It was about 65 degrees with moderate humidity and I used my go-to holy grail IT cosmetics CC cream which can last me a good 8-10 hours with no problem in hot & humid weather.

I followed the instruction on the video and applied a rice grain size amount and massaged it into the skin. I had such high hopes because it felt really nice when you apply it. The primer applies white but leaves an almost pink pearlescent glow to the skin. There is silicone in this primer and it feels malleable enough that I didn't have to work on it super fast but my face almost immediately looked oily and within about a couple of hours my face felt like an oil slick and I started to break out around my nose.

When I try out samples for Sample Sunday if I can use it a couple of times I would do it so I can give you as much information but in this case the swatch is really all I got because I don't really want to put this on my face again. I might try it in the future as a eye primer but I don't know if that'll go well since I also have oily lids.

With that said, if you don't have as sensitive skin as I do and a dry to normal skin, the moisturizing benefit could be really good for you and might actually work out. For my sensitive and combination skin I currently use 2 primers depending on what finish I'm looking for the Touch in Sol No Poreblem Primer which and the Soap & Glory One Heck of  Blot primer.

Hope you enjoy today's Sample Sunday selection. Let me know what samples you want to see next. As always thanks for reading.

Until next time,
Jessica
