Dior Backstage Face & Body Foundation Review

Today's Sample Sunday selection was so good that I ended up getting a full size before this post was finished so it's  Sample Sunday/Full Review.

The Dior Backstage Face & Body Foundation is probably one of the hottest release of the summer. Between this foundation, the Hello Happy Foundation by Benefit and Bounce Liquid Whip Foundation by BeautyBlender there are a lot of new options for light weight but build-able foundation.

How I got the sample- Sephora always has these extra codes you can add if you buy things online sometimes you get really decent size deluxe samples so I chose the Dior Face & Body in 2N which I thought was a pretty good match. This foundation has a matte finish. I did end up getting the full size in 1.5N instead which is going to be a better match for me the rest of the year.

The sample alone lasted me around 5 days. I didn't try to build it up so much all over because it's been too hot and humid and I didn't want my face to feel heavy but I did add a little bit of extra layer where I wanted more coverage. The week I tested this foundation it was between 90-100 degrees with really high humidity so I was basically melting throughout the day. The day I took the pictures I took the 'before' at 7:09 a.m. and I took the 'after' at 7:54 pm which is over 12 hours. I blotted it twice. Once around noon with a blotting paper and once when I got home around 6 with a tissue because I forgot I had to take a photo.

This is a very watery foundation and I find it best to apply with my fingers. I just apply the foundation in dots and then blend it in and then I'll use a beauty blender if I have to even things out. I did pick up the Sephora PRO Domed Foundation #78 and it works beautifully with this foundation. The brush is massive but it is really great when I want a fuller coverage.

I used to love matte foundation. It used to be my go to but as I've gotten older and started to focus more on skincare I do prefer a more dewy finish (my holy grail is the IT Cosmetic CC cream) which is why I was looking forward to trying it out Benefit's Hello Happy. With that said I really love my end-of-day face so much that I much prefer this in the summer because I do end up with a reasonably dewy finish at the end of the day.  For how much I blotted and literally melted throughout the day I still had a pretty good coverage

This foundation does transfer so I don't recommend white clothing if you are wearing this in a hot & humid weather. I do wish I took a picture after I blotted it the first time because even though it did transfer to the blotting paper it was still looking really good. By the 12 hour mark I felt really gros so I was surprised that anything was left at all. I wear glasses all the time because I can't see and because I don't have much of a nose bridge my glasses do sit on my cheek and for the most part I didn't find the foundation breaking or getting patchy.

As someone with a sensitive skin this didn't break me out even though it does have fragrance, again it didn't oxidize orange on my skin and it didn't enlarge or settle on my pores and it didn't break around my nose.

The only thing that I had to adjust since I usually use a cushion or my IT cosmetics is applying foundation. It applies well with most foundation I have so I didn't have any issue with that. If you were interested in this product I definitely recommend it and let me know what your favorite holy grail summer foundation so I can check them out. As always thanks for reading.

Until next time,
Jessica
