Revolution The Emily Edit - The Wants

The Emily Edit is my first YouTuber product that I've purchased. I have been watching Emily Noel for such a long time and I was so thrilled when this palette came out. It is almost the perfect palette and such a great compliment to my significantly paired down  eye shadow collection. This palette is available at ULTA (in stores only)

I love how bright this palette is and how pigmented most of the shadows are. I like that there are colors I would never imagine using like Corduroy that has become my favorite everyday eye shadow. I am in love with this big full size mirror. I think that was why I never bought such big palettes because it didn't make sense to me why they can't come with a mirror the size of the palette.

The only complaint I have is that Makeup Revolution palettes have fallen apart on me before and it's usually the hinges that just cracks and pops out. So with the size of this mirror I will try to be gentle and keep this palette in tact.

I really liked how this palette was organized. I think it makes a lot of sense and you can get a lot of inspiration from the set up.

Instead of swatching all of the shadows I rather have you go to Emily's channel and watch her swatches and talk a little bit about the naming of the shadows. What I've done is swatched my top 7 favorite shadows. They were all one swirl swatches and I just used my finger and worked on it a little bit to give you an idea of how the colors blend.

From left to right we have...

Corduroy which I have to tell you is the reason why I was so attracted to this palette. With Fall right around the corner I just think I can get a lot of inspiration and use. I love that it's this dark matte green. It is absolutely beautiful with Top Story which is this beautiful gold shimmer that is super pigmented. To switch it up I also love pairing Corduroy with Colourpop's Paper Tiger and Two Birds.

Capricorn which happens to also be my sign and it's a really beautiful medium brown. It does have a slight glimmer but not as shimmery as the other shades here so I would probably call this a satin finish.

Heartbeat is almost a duo-chrome peachy-red with a yellow undertone that is so gorgeous. Then we have Pizzaz a shimmery purple shade, Love Tons, a lovely bright plum and Cupcake a peach satin shadow.

I do recommend using a primer with these shadows. They do blend well but I think for longevity it's always good to use a little bit of primer. They blend really well with my brushes but I do like applying the shimmery shades with my fingers. As always, thanks for reading.

Until next time,
Jess
