Sample Sunday - Blender Cleanser Solid

Hello!

Today I am back with a sample that I've been wanting to try for awhile and it is the blender cleanser solid by beautyblender. This solid cleanser is made without parabens, sulfates and phthalates. The full size of this product is 1 oz. for $16.

The sponge that I am currently using is a white Beautyblender. This was a part of a limited edition Nordstrom x Beautyblender release which came with 2 of the white sponges and the protective case. I'm not a big fan of the white sponge but the kit was on sale and I think I ended up paying a little over $20 for all 3 products.

This is what my sponge look like after one use. I mostly use the bottom and side to apply my foundation and the top pointy part to apply concealer or set powder. I wash my beauty blender before each use. I used the solid cleanser by placing the soap on my palm and wetting the sponge, not the soap. I then rubbed the cleanser in a circular motion against the soap, squeezing out and running it through water every several seconds until the water runs clear. I didn't want to overdo it cause I want to test it as if I'm using my other cleanser.

As you can see it did a pretty good job. There are still some parts near the top and on the bottom where you can still see stains but overall I think it cleared out most of the stains. The soap does have a light scent but I can't figure out if it's lavender or citrus because I kept getting a different whiff every time but it is very lightly scented.

Is it worth it and will I get it? I personally don't think it's worth it because if you wear makeup everyday and you wash your sponge everyday I don't see this soap lasting more than a month. I do get the convenience of the solid cleanser and the tin especially if you travel a lot but I don't know if the convenience is worth $16. I personally use both the liquid and bar version of the Dr. Bronner's which comes in a myriad of varieties to clean my sponges and brushes. The Dr. Bronner's bar soaps are $4.79 for 5.oz. Obviously you can use different types of soaps but if you prefer something organic you can try finding a bar soap that works for you. I have sensitive skin and usually soaps and skincare that are made with a lot of oil are hit or miss but this soap seems to work well on my skin. As always thanks for reading.

Until next time,
Jess
