Favorite Beauty Product of 2012 Pt. 2

Hi all,

Back again with Part 2 of my Favorite Beauty Products of 2012:

Moisturizers & Foundations:

For the longest time I've used Clinique's Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion in addition to my (former) 3-Step Clinique's Acne Cleansing Kit. Since I transititoned to the 3-Step Cleansing for Combination/Oily Skin (info available in Pt. 1) the Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel works better for my skin type. If you are interested in this product, you should definetly see a Clinique's beautician and see which one is better for you.

Foundation is probably my least favorite of all my make up products. With my skin type, I tend to break out with foundations but at the same time I need it to even out the redness in my skin and my uneven skin tone. I've tried foundations from the drugstores at the $10+ price range to the boutique version such as Trish McEvoy's and Bobbi Brown's ($50-$68) and even the ones that are supposed to be good for my skin type, approved by dermatologists (McEvoy's foundation) still broke me out horribly. With that said, my favorite foundation is Clinique's Even Better Foundation with SPF 15 at $27 it provides my skin with moderate and not heavy coverage.

As I tend not to use foundation every day I also love Origin's VitaZing which is a sheer moisturizers that comes out of the tube white and as it blends with your skin, it picks up all the blemishes and create an even skin tone. I've seen it work great on all type of skin tones, and I think it just depends on how your skin picks up this product. A couple of online reviewers who have darker skin often feels that the moisturizer doesn't blend it too well with the face leaving it slightly ashen.

Eye Liner:

My favorite waterproof all day Eye Liner is Lancome's Le Stylo Waterproof. It only comes in black or brown so it's mostly for your day to day work Eye Liner.  For fun colors Eye Liner, I like MAC's Power Point Eye Pencil in Permaplum and Prussian.

Concealers, Pore Minimizer, Primer:

These 3 products I got in a mini kit from Sephora:

Benefit's "that gal" face primer helps even out skin tone and helps make up sticks to your face better.

Benefit's "the pore-fessional" minimize the visibility of pores and Benefit's "stay don't stray" is a primer for concealers and eye shadows.

Eye Shadow:

For my skin tone I love using the neutral and deep purple palette.
My favorite purple palette is Lancome's Sensational Effects Eye Shadow and my favorite neutral purple palette is Urban Decay's Naked Basic Palette.

Eye Make Up Remover:

My on the go eye make up remover is Lancome's Bi Facil double action eye make up remover. It's the only product I found that could remove my most stubborn waterproof mascaras and eye liners.

Face Brush:

Origin's Face Brush is the best budget friendly purchase since I currently cannot afford to buy a clarisonic. It's extremely cheap ($4 Origins stand at Macy's/Dillards). I use it twice a day with my daily face wash for about two minutes and I've seen major difference in breakouts and the quality of my skin.

That pretty much covers all of my Favorite 2012 Beauty Products. If you've tried any of this products or would like to try them, please comment below :)

Till next time,

Jessica
