Favorite Beauty Products of 2012 Pt. 1
Hi all,
Back again today with Part I. of my 'Favorite Beauty Products of 2012'. I own all of the products (I am not paid by the companies to review them) and I've used them for at least four months. If you are interested in any of the products you can click on the product name which will lead you to a website (I try to put the company web page as much as I can). Some of these items I've purchased overseas or via Amazon. Again this is my personal beauty product custom and tailored to the need of my skin, hair, etc.
Before I start, let me just state the issues that I usually have so that you have an idea on why I purchased these products.
Face & Make up: I have super sensitive combination oily skin that's prone to break outs so the majority of the products I've posted are geared toward combating those issues and reducing the appearance of pores.
Hair: I have a super straight colored Asian hair and I look for products that have the protection and additional nourishments for my skin. In addition, I also look for styling products that will give my hair some volume.
Body: Living in the East Coast, my skin has to go through a lot especially in the extreme temperatures.I try to find a product that I can use all year round.
With that, here we go...
Face & Make up Products of 2012
Daily Skin Care:
Clinique 3-Step Skin Care for type 3 (combination/oily).
*This is my main daily facial cleanser & moisturizer*
Face Cream/ Moisturizing gel:
Day- See Clinique 3- Step Kit- the Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel
Night Cream-
Etude House Moistful Collagen Cream - I received as a gift from my cousin while visiting Indonesia and I fell in love with it. It feels like a gel when you put it on but it's super hydrating just like the Clinique 3 Step. With Etude House product or foreign brand products I tend to stick to official seller and the link above is to an Amazon seller which does sell the real deal.
Cooling Eye Mask to reduce puffiness-
Origins No Puffery Eye Mask will cover those late night wear and tear on those super unattractive bags and dark spots underneath the eyes. I put mine in the refrigerator and take it out when I need it. I leave this icy relief on my skin for 10 minutes, wipe clean and it will leave the areas underneath your eyes calm and puff-less.
Face Mask-
Origins' Clear Improvemental (Charcoal) Mask will get rid of all of the impurities and toxins that are trapped in your pores. I use it about once a week and since using this charcoal mask, I've learned that in Japan, people actually use Charcoal to purify their water so this mask does it jobs in terms of purifying the face. My other favorite is the Freeman's Cucumber Peel Off Mask for a third of the price of Origins', this mask will leave your face feeling clean and super fresh.
Acne/ Break outs:
For Acne breakouts I use the Neutrogena's Oil Free Acne Wash Daily Scrub just on the days that I think I'm about to have breakout or the mornings that I have redness or acne on my face. Then I use the Neutrogena Spot On Acne Treatment overnight to sooth the Acne.
Lip:
I don't really like to use lipsticks so here are two of my favorites lip products:
Korress Lip Butter & Gloss in Promeganate- Angelica Jolie was seen using one at an award show. The Lip Butter itself is amazinga must have for the dry winter time. It's extremely soothing and Korress offers several tint. You can purchase the Lip Butter and Gloss separately but I always purchase them as a set in Sephora because it comes up cheaper.
C.O. Bigelow Mentha Lip- I love the subtle shimmer in this product. They use peppermint oil to give the lips and mouth that long lasting freshness and the peppermint gives my lips a slight plump. You can purchase it at Bath & Body Works near you. It comes in several mint flavors and tint. It also comes in a clear gloss form if you don't want the tint.
Part II. will cover moisturizers, foundations, eye liner, eye shadows palette, mascaras, and hair products.
Till then,
Jessica

Face & Make up Products of 2012
Daily Skin Care:
Clinique 3-Step Skin Care for type 3 (combination/oily).
*This is my main daily facial cleanser & moisturizer*
- This Clinique 3-Step Skin Care is for people who in general have comfortable cheeks and oily just in the T-zone. It comes with a face wash (cleanser), a toner (Clinique calls it 'Clarifying Lotion') and a Moisturizer that comes either in a lotion or a gel (lotion for normal-dry skin and gel for combination oily-oily). It leaves skin clean, moisturize and bright.
- Clinique makes great products for highly sensitive skin that are prone to break outs. I've loved their products ever since High School where I started to use their 3 step for Acne control. The 3 Step kit is absolutely amazing and it leaves my face feeling clean and super hydrated. The clarifying lotion which exfoliates your face and acts as a toner helps to get rid of excess oil/flakes but also allows my makeup to sit better on my face. I prefer the gel moisturizer over the lotion to control my T-zone and I always use it before I put on my foundation.
- This product is available at their stands in major department stores, Clinique's official website, and through stand alone beauty shops such as Sephora. You can purchase any of the 3-Step Skin Care product individually or go to your department stores and see if they have special deals.
Origins Daily Skin Care
*Secondary cleanser I use when I feel I need to switch it up*
- Checks and Balances Cleanser is super frothy and smells amazing like the rest of the Origins products. This face wash will leave your face super hydrated even without putting any moisturizers on. This cleanser works for all skin types.
- A Perfect World Tonic is a recommended toner for Combination oil/dry skin. With White Tea extract, it leaves skin feeling super soft and bright.
- Dr. Weil Mega-Mushroom Serum is best for sensitive skin and as a serum it helps the face combat aging.
