Beauty & Fashion Spring Haul 2015 + Training for a Half-Marathon?

Hello!

The first day of Spring is tomorrow March 20th and even though the meteorologists are calling for the dreaded four letter word- snow, I am thinking positive and looking forward to the day that I can wear my sunglasses again. I recently got few products in preparation for the warmer weather so I figured why not do a haul? Scroll all the way down if you want to read my thoughts on running a half-marathon.

Half Marathon, Running, Haul, Not Your Mother's, Banana Boat Color Sunless Tinted Lotion, Suave Visible Glow, Rimmel London, Maybelinne, Maybelinne Volum' Express The Falsies Mascara, NYX, LUSH, Reebok

Not Your Mother's Beach Babe Texturizing Hair Cream is a product I found last year that I fell in love with. I tend not to mess with my hair too much with products or styling tools in the summer because it gets oily and heavy. This cream is non-greasy, smells like pina colada and creates a really nice tousled waves.

Both Banana Boat Summer Color Sunless Tinted Lotion and Suave Visible Glow Self-Tanning Body Lotion along with ULTA Bronze Glow Mitt are to see if any of these self-tanning drugstore products work on my skin. I love getting a nice, glowy, sun-kissed tan, but for some reason why legs just refused to tan with the rest of my body. So I am going to give these three products and try and see what happens.

I got the Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation because I don't have a full coverage drugstore foundation that could be used as an alternative to my Clinique Even Better. When I was at the store I also decided to pick up the Stay Matte Powder in Transparent because warmer weather = oily T-Zone. I plan on doing a review for both of these products so stay tuned.

I did some research on the Maybelinne Volum' Express The Falsies Waterproof Mascara because I have super fine and short lashes. Since I don't really like wearing false lashes or spend $24 for Benefit They're Real Mascara, I figured this might be a good drugstore option (plus it's waterproof which is great for the summer).

NYX Matte Finish Makeup Setting Spray is a repurchase is an oldie but a goody. It's a trusty and affordable setting spray.

Yes To Grapefruit Correct & Repair Brightening Facial Towel is my only cleansing towel that I've used for the past two years. For me it's the only product that I could use if I'm feeling lazy at the end of the night to take my makeup off and not have a breakout because I skip washing my face for a night or two. It costs a little bit more than comparable brands but it's also thicker and more durable. You can get this face towel at most drugstores and ULTA but Target sometimes has the 40ct one for the price of the regular package.

The last two makeup products are from Clinique. I am huge fan of the Chubby Stick Intense Moisturizing Lip Balm line. This particular shade - Heftiest Hibiscus is just a really fun and bold color for spring. Clinique Great Skin, Great Deal for Combination Oily Skin I've only seen at Sephora. It contains the Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel, facial soap and toner for the price o just the moisturizing gel. Sephora also carries the other kit for dry skin and acne-prone.

At Lush I picked up my favorite moisturizing Butterball bath bomb and From Dusk 'Til Dawn Massage Bar.

The scarves I actually picked up when I was at JC Penney. I picked up a purple one and also a coral one with pineapple graphics.

Running a Half-Marathon?

My last product is probably the one I am most excited about. I picked this up at DSW on sale. It's the Reebok Z Dual Run for women which was renamed to ZQuick Dash. A few years ago I sustained a sports injury so I've been very limited in what I can and cannot do in terms of exercise. So one of my resolution this year is to get back in shape and ultimately run a half-marathon and maybe even the Broad Street Run in the future. To get me started and motivated, I also picked up this month's edition of Runner's World which has tips on running solo. I'm so used to running outdoors in a team setting outdoors and am mentally unprepared to run alone (so hopefully it'll have some good tips).

I decided to pick this up because it's lightweight and I wanted a pair that would make me want to run (I love the colors and it also came with a dark purple shoelace). I need lightweight shoes because when I was in high school, I fractured my left ankle so when I have standard athletic shoes my left ankle gets really sore (not related to the most recent sports injury). If you are a runner or have tips about running marathon please do leave a comment below because I need all the help I can get. Thanks for reading!

Until next time,
