Dollar Tree Beauty Part 2- Milani and L.A. Color First Impressions

After my last post on my Dollar Tree Physicians Formula find, one of my friend actually told me that the L.A. Color brand (which I guess is Dollar Tree primary brand?) actually has pretty good quality shadows. Since shimmer shades seem to be more successful for drugstore brands than the satin or matte finish I figured I try the trio palette in Sunflower. I also picked up the Milani Retractable lip pencil because this honestly looks exactly like my other Milani products.

L.A. Colors Sunflower Palette

The packaging states "Long lasting, rich intense colors". Right off the bat, I find this slightly creamier than the Physicians Formula. The copper in the middle and the chocolate brown on the right are really pigmented. The gold is not as intense but still shows up pretty well on the swatches below.

Applying it on my eyelids however is another matter. I find the shadows doesn't maintain the colors and my look ended up being really muddy. The only color that stood out to me is the copper. The chocolate brown and gold shadows just kind of blends with the copper. After about an hour it looks as if I only applied the copper shadow.

I can't believe I'm saying this but even though this formula is slightly creamier than the Physicians Formula, with a  little bit of primer the Physicians Formula palette gives me more to work with.

Milani Retractable Lip Pencil - Cherry Pie

There's really not much to say with this one other than it's a complete and total WIN! This looks and feels like the regular products. Applied really smoothly, super creamy, doesn't tug and last a long time. If you see this at your dollar tree, definitely pick it up. This lip pencil is also a really good investment because it honestly works well with red lipsticks that have blue and orange undertone.

So this time around I like 1/2 products, we are definitely getting somewhere. As I'm writing this I have two more products that are ready to go for round 3 of Dollar Tree Beauty. Let me know below or on Insta if you want me to keep doing this series. I didn't intend on starting a Dollar Tree series but I've been having a ton of fun trying out Dollar Tree products. As always, thanks for reading!

Until next time,
