e.l.f. Cosmetics November #Playbeautifully Challenge

This month, I am participating in e.l.f. cosmetics #playbeautifully challenge. For the month of November e.l.f kindly sent me 6 items to try and challenge me to create a final look using their products. If you follow me on Instagram you would've seen the product shot and also the final look. This is not the first time I have done a #playbeautifully challenged, you can check out my Belle inspired look with the Enchanted Tale palette.

For this challenge I've decided to stick with almost all e.l.f. products and tools with the exception of products that I don't own from e.l.f. such as primer & foundation. All of the products will be listed at the end of the post.

Novemeber #PlayBeautifull Products

Before we get to the final look, let's talk about the 6 products that I received this month.

1. Illuminating Palette- I squealed with delight when I saw this palette. I'm pretty sure this was re-named at some point because I remember it being out of stock everywhere last April. This highlighting set is stunning. I pretty much used all 4 powders to highlight different parts of my face. If you were coveting the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette this is an excellent alternative. The pink highlight on the top right of the palette is very similar to the e.l.f. Lilac Petal cream highlight which is probably my all time favorite highlight this summer so I'm excited to have it in powder form.

2. Prism Eyeshadow Palette in Sunset- I would not have picked this out for myself because it is super bright and glittery. The shadows are really smooth and have really good pigmentation and since I don't have anything like it in my collection I had a great time playing around with the colors.

3. Moisturizing Lipstick in Marsala. The one lip product that I've been purchasing from e.l.f. has been the matte lip in a variety of shades so I was really pleased that this was in the package. I have to say that at first I was a bit hesitant because a lot of neutral/peachy lipstick tends to wash me out. This shade (marsala) is perfect for my skin tone, it is moisturizing and has been in my purse since I got it because I love it so much.

4. Precision Liquid Liner has a really fine and thin brush which is awesome. I'm more a fan of felt tip brush just because I feel like I have more control but the formula of this liner is fantastic. It lasts all day and doesn't smudge.

5. Mattifying Blotting Papers is very similar to several Asian beauty brands like ETUDE House blotting paper pact. The idea is really neat, you get a puff that sticks to the very thin blotting papers for easy application. It also comes with a mirror which is great for anyone who has oily/combination skin especially in the summer time.

6. Kiss it Goodbye Lip Color Remover works great- I've used my darkest and most stubborn lipstick and the color comes right off without leaving a stain on my lips.

Steps & Final Look

Usually I would start with face products before doing my eye makeup but since the shadows are quite glittery I decided to star with the shadows first. I used the e.l.f. shadow lock primer and applied the
white shadow as a base and to highlight my brows. Then I applied the brown shade all over the lid, the raspberry color on the outside of lid and crease and a little bit of the rose gold in the inner corner. I used the precise liner to just do a simple thin line across my eyelids and applied some mascara.

For the face, I applied the foundation with the Beautifully Bare Blending Brush, the e.l.f. concealer in light and then applied the yellow tone highlight to set the concealer and brightens the area under my eyes. I didn't want a super sculpted look so I used the Blending Brush and applied some light contour into the hollows of my cheeks and sides of my nose by using the St. Lucia bronzing and blush powders. For highlights, I used the pink tone highlight on top of my cheekbone and I sweep it up on a curve up above my eyebrows (almost like a reversed 'C') and the warm golden tone across my forehead and down the bridge of my nose.

I set my final with some powder and a setting spray before applying the moisturizing lipstick in Marsala.

I hope you've enjoyed this natural look for Fall which is what I also used on Thanksgiving day. Let me know below if you have a favorite e.l.f. product or even ones that you want to try! You can follow me on Instagram and keep up to date on e.l.f. latest news on their Instagram as well. As always, thanks for reading.

Until next time,
