Love Blooms on Main Street Q&A with author Olivia Miles & Giveaway
I am thrilled to once again participate in the Release Week Blitz for Olivia Miles' new book - Love Blooms on Main Street which is book #4 in the Briar Creek Series (you can check out my previous review of A Match Made on Main Street). Forever is also giving away 10 copies of Love Blooms on Main Street in celebration of the release of the book so feel free to enter all the information are listed at the end of the post.
I haven't read a lot of contemporary romance novel recently but Olivia Miles books just stood out to me as being a light-hearted, wonderful summer read. Her characters have a lot of depths and I'm a fan of series that are inter-connected. I definitely enjoy keeping up with the characters after their stories end or being introduced to them in one novel and then continue on their journey (kind of like Susan Mallery's Fools Gold Series).
About the Book
Love is
always in season . . .
Florist Ivy
Birch fantasizes about the day a man will surprise her with a
beautiful bouquet of flowers. Especially if that man happens to be
Brett Hastings. One stolen kiss at her best friend's wedding and Ivy
can't get the sexy ER doctor out of her head.
In the small town of Briar Creek, you can't avoid anyone for very long. Not that Brett has been trying to avoid Ivy. He just can't afford to let anything distract him from his work - not again. So when a hospital fundraiser throws them together, love is the last thing on his mind. But with her quick wit and sweet laugh, soon the one woman he's tried to keep at arm's length is capturing his heart...

When did
you first realize you wanted to be a writer?
I’ve
wanted to be a writer for as long as I can remember. Since I first
learned to read, I was eager to create my own stories, and that theme
followed me through life.
What do you
like to do when you are not writing?
I have a
young daughter and two adorable dogs that get the bulk of my
attention when I am not writing. I also love to cook, decorate the
house, and I’ve been trying to improve my gardening skills. We live
right along Lake Michigan, and in the summer, I love reading at the
beach.
What was
one of the most surprising things you learned in creating your books?
I tend
to be a planner, and stick to an outline while I’m writing, and
sometimes I am known to fret over it a bit, and worry that things
won’t all come together. I’m always surprised when ideas come to
me as I’m writing, and the problems seem to solve themselves along
the way. It’s all in there, trapped in my head, but sometimes I
can’t force it out but rather, just wait for it to come to me…and
not freak out but remember to believe that in time, it will!
Do you have
any suggestions to help your readers become a better writer?
I am of
the mindset that great writers are great readers. Read, read, read.
Read everything.
