Does Findation.com Work?
I've recently bought quiet a few foundation online and had not-so-great results. I ended up at Findation.com and I wanted to see if it actually works.
I use a lot of BB & CC cream and cushions and I'm usually a shade 23 which in some cases is actually the darkest possible shade in Korean brands. For this test what I really wanted to see is whether or not it would give me an accurate match for the Dior Backstage Face & Body.
I had gotten a sample with purchase from Sephora which was 2N and I thought it was a decent match but I felt it was a little bit too light.
What I inputted to Findation.com are my most used products that are the closest to my shade year round:
If you read my review you would know that 1.5N is the shade that I ended up getting and it's a great color match. I thought that I would be a 2.5N but that was clearly too dark and even though I felt that the 2N was originally too light, for some reason I really love the way my skin looked with 1.5N.
With that said, when I added the IT Cosmetics CC Cream in Medium & Fair it tipped it to 2.5N because the medium shade is clearly too dark for me and it's something I personally have to mix with the Fair shade.
Matches for Foundation in my Wish List-
I think if you are in pinch Findation.com would work. My tip is to put in at least 5 foundation shades that you actually use the most. If you do get tanner over the summer it really depends on whether or not you do want the result for a summer foundation or a year-round shade. I played around with it a bit more and it did matched me correctly to MAC NC20 and Cover FX Custom Drops in G30.
All in all I am pretty impressed. I think it's incredible that they have such a wide variety of brands including Korean brands that you may not have heard of, but also how accurate it can be. Keep in mind though that even though it can be a great color match depending on how your skin reacts it may not be the perfect match after all. For example I tried Fenty Beauty and I'm pretty sure the Findation match was correct which is 260 and it was fine but it definitely oxidized slightly orange and too warm for my liking. Let me know if you've used Findation.com or similar sites. As always thanks for reading.
Until next time,
Jess
