Spring 2019 Makeup Collection - Eyeshadows
Hello,
It's been a few months since I've blogged and there's no better way to get back to blogging than just publishing a post. Another reason why I wanted to work on this series now is because the Sephora sale is a few days away and I feel as if I need a reminder of how much product I actually own and that with the exception of a few things I do actually need I have enough makeup and skincare.
Back in November, I decided to go through all of my skincare + makeup and try to keep just ones that I use and love. Since the actual declutter I received two palettes as birthday gift which I'll mention below. I will share a little bit about each palette and why I chose to keep them. I will say that if you told me five years ago this is what my eyeshadow collection would look like, I would probably laugh. There's way too many colors but I think that's what's fun about makeup, nothing is permanent and you get to figure out what you like.

The first palette on the upper left is the Sephora Z Palette which contains the Colourpop Give it to me straight. I depotted them because I don't use all of the shadows in the palette and this way I can see what actually works and only keep the shadows I use.
Next is my MAC quad which I've talked about previously. This is my go to travel palette. It is compact and has all the neutral shades I need when I'm travelling. The shades in the quad are Ricepaper, Saddle, Espresso and Woodwinked.
On the upper right we have Becca Volcano Goddess which is what I recently got for my birthday. I have a love/hate relationship with this palette. Most of the shadows are really great to work with, they are so smooth and blendable. There are some that are frustrating but I just love looking at this palette. I will have a review of this palette and swatches on Friday.
The one non-palette product is Stila Glitter & Glow Liquid Eyeshadow in Kitten Karma. I got this as part of a Sephora Favorites kit. I really like using it because it is long wearing and it isn't sticky or heavy. There is some fallout and if you have oily lids you might end up with some glitter under your eyes at the of the night. It's still a solid product and I enjoy using it especially on days I want to transform my eye look for events.
The Natasha Denona Cranberry palette I also receive as a birthday gift. I like that it's a 5 pan with 3 shimmers and 2 mattes. This palette isn't going to be everyone's cup of tea. The texture is a bit interesting to work with but I don't have any problem with building it up or any creasing throughout the day. The problem I do have is that the two matte shades look nothing like what they are in the pan. The shimmer shades however are absolutely gorgeous and beautiful.
The next two palettes are my ABH Modern Renaissance and Subculture palettes. Modern Renaissance just has the most flattering shades for my skin tone. Subculture on the other hand is interesting... people definitely have a lot of feelings regarding this palette. I will say that yes there's fallout but it is really pigmented. I think the brushes in both of the palettes are useless, with any ABH palettes I rarely touch a fluffy blending brush because you can just pack on the shadows where you want it and gently blend it out. If you don't use a primer, any type of fluffy blending brush will just brush the shadows away. I use the UD potion primer and flat brush to apply the products.
The final palette is the discontinued Naked Palette. As you can see I gravitate towards warm shadows in general so this palette gives me the cool tone browns I need.
Let me know down below your must have palettes so I can check them out. As always, thanks for reading!
Until next time,
Jessica
